Message From Mr. WANG Xudong, Minister of Information Industry of China and Chairman of China 2009 Organizing Committee

The 2009 World Stamp Exhibition in China will be a grand event in the process of posts and philately industry development in China and also a worldwide cultural activity which will showcase the philately results and promote the industry communications and exchanges. The Exhibition is of great significance to propel the growth of philately in both China and the world. Stamps are entitled “name cards of a nation”. The Chinese government has always paid attention to the growth of philately. The Ministry of Information Industry will render its great support to the organization of the Exhibition in China. On behalf of the China Organizing Committee of the 2009 World Philately Exhibition, I would like to extend warm invitations to the postal administrations of the UPU member states and to the members of International Philatelic Federation. I believe that the Exhibition will play a positive role in promoting the growth of philately in China and enhancing the friendship and communications between the Chinese people and the peoples of the world.
